It seems some employers, in order to avoid any lost time accident, do anything it takes to make sure an employee does not miss work. We understand that employers are under a lot of pressure not to file worker’s compensation claims as to not cause a lost time accident, but Indiana law says that an employer cannot retaliate against an employee for filing a worker’s compensation claim. If your employer is putting pressure on you for not filing a claim or to not miss work, your employer must be careful. You have the right to worker’s compensation benefits if you are hurt at work and your employer cannot punish you for filing a claim and/or causing a lost time accident.
